This unit is designed to help students acknowledge the importance of their Personal Brand, and it`s holistic nature. Believe it or not, you are starting your brand every time you log on to any social media site! With technology being a large part of students being, it is important for them to "think before they click" so they take control of their brand. Every click adds to your digital footprint. When friends, family, and potential future employers Google your name, will they find something that is a true representation of you as a whole person? Is it something you are proud of?

a) While watching this video, come up with YOUR PERSONAL definition of a brand.

b) With your elbow partner, combine and collaborate to agree on the definition of a brand
c) Combine groups with the elbow partners in front or behind you, and amalgamate your definitions to come up with an agreed upon definition. The person with the shortest last name will share this with the class
d) As a class, what is our definition of a brand?

Google Yourself Discussion - Do you think anyone ever Googles your name?
a) Write down what you THINK you will find when you Google your name.
b) Now, trade computers with a trusted friend, and Google yourself! What DID you find?
c) Watch this Ontario Skills Passport (OSP) video on How to Make Social Media Work for You
Activity 3:While watching this Tim Lebercht TED Talk, ``3 Ways to (usefully) lose control of your brand``, take notes on his advice. What are his 3 suggestions?
